Members’ Welcome Letter - March 2009

On behalf of the management and staff at Squire Green, welcome to Golf 2009!  This is an exciting year for us as we are celebrating our 10^th anniversary!  Randy and his crew are already busy on the course and with his dedication and expertise, we’re looking forward to a season of exceptional conditions.

Your one-stop shop : The Pro Shop
You will be pleased to know that the Pro Shop has been totally renovated and expanded to accommodate a comfortable air conditioned sitting area.  Located across from the #1 tee, the Pro Shop is your first stop as we request all golfers register here before play.  During peak season, the hours of operation are 7 am until dusk.  As a member, you are entitled to a 10% discount on all regularly priced merchandise at the Pro Shop (excluding balls, gloves, and tees).

On the course
Squire Green Golf course is one of the most beautiful 9-hole golf courses in Atlantic Canada. To ensure a pleasant golf experience for all, it is important to observe the basic rules of golf and practice good golf etiquette.  Maintaining pace of play is important.  Check the clocks on the course and allow faster players to play through.  The dress code requires a neat and clean appearance, collared shirts for men, soft spikes, and shorts at least mid-thigh in length. Muscle shirts, tank tops, spaghetti or strapless tops, torso baring shirts and sweat pants are not permitted.

Tournaments
Squire Green hosts three open tournaments each season: the Moosehead Open, the Coca Cola Classic Open and the Squire Green Open.  These are also fun tournaments that are another great way to meet other golfers.  Several other activities are in the works, so stay tuned!

Other information
In addition to the 9-hole golf course, Squire Green also offers a driving range and a putting green. Driving range cards in small, medium, and large bucket size are available at $60, $90, and $110  respectively for 30 buckets. As well, you can take advantage of our frequent use card for the driving range. Buy 12 buckets and get the 13th FREE.

A very popular activity is Tuesday Men’s Night.  Get a team together and enjoy a round of golf, a delicious meal, a 50-50 draw as well as draws for great prizes from our sponsors. Also inquire about Thursday Ladies’ Nights.  It’s a great way to meet other golfers. Also under consideration are Monday mixed games and Friday Couples Night.  Please let us know if either of these would be of interest to you.

Membership Information
As a Gold Member, you are entitled to unrestricted play, except during tournaments.
As a Silver Member, you are entitled to book tee-times Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 4 pm.
As a Senior member (65 and older), you are entitled to unrestricted play, except during tournaments.
As an Intermediate Member, you are entitled to unrestricted play, except during tournaments.
Junior memberships include 3 hours of golf lessons per week beginning on July 7^th.
Please note that all memberships are nontransferable and nonrefundable.
